I just bought and watched this movie as I remember going to the show to see it when it first came out as a young teenager, and back then it scared the stuff outta me, it was fun to watch it again, it was very simplistic in its making but brought back my years as a kid going to the one screen theatre in our home town where I grew up. was worth the money to buy it....
An Interesting Tale with 70s effects

The Legend of Boggy Creek is a 1970s film about the Faulk Monster, a sasquatch type creature that roams the bottom lands of Faulk Arkansas. For anyone who is interested in cryptozoology, it makes for interesting viewing, though it is not great art. The effects were simple, even by 70s standards.

It was exactly the way I remember seeing when I was little. It was spooky and lots of talk from eyewitnesses. The song is cute and kinda doesnt go with the eerie talk but, its what I remember from my childhood and it wouldnt be the same without it. Its 70ish and cheesy but, a good cheese.

My fave story is the re-enactment of the 2 couples.

This was a really good film when it first came out and is still a pretty good movie today. Almost anything ocurring in dark, swampy areas tends to have a mysterious atmosphere. With the possibility of the creature and those events being real, it makes it even a little more eerie. Whether or not you believe in Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, etc., if you ever find yourself out in the woods after dark, youll be a little more on edge after youve watched this. Good Ol Scary Movie and worth watching.

Wasnt quite what I was expecting, I mean it was written well, I like that they had the guys out there in the the woods, but they never found any actual real evidence, they were mostly just trying to outdo each other for the noteriety, and one ended up getting himself killed for it. I figure of your are serious about trying to hunt this creature then you should know all safety measures available.

    Oh yeah! That was great!

There will be two types of people for Scream of the Sasquatch: those who hate it for bad acting and those who love it for exactly what it is. This is NOT a documentary on bigfoot hunting, it is a parody of documentaries on bigfoot hunting. We have two characters, Frank VanderSchmidt and Ron Warren. Ron is the photo-proof kind of guy Frank is his cousin (Larry)s wifes brother and is of the kill-em-for-proof kind of guy. There are no opening credits and its shot in such a way that makes you sort of think it is a viable documantary but theres never any mention of the big names in the field of bigfoot research so youre not sure. What we get is a small cast that represents an amalgamation of those Dahinden, Krantz, Green, Byrne, Bindernagel, Fish, and the such. Theres even the "Robby Peterson" film of 1972 parodying the famed Roger Patterson film.

This is an independent film in which, presumedly, the director used his friends to fill out the cast. The acting seems bad because you have real people portraying "real people." This is along the lines of _The Blair Witch Project_ for bigfoot people. I was sitting there watching it, disbelieving there are people like this in the bigfoot field but truth be told, thats what some of them actually are like. The character of Ron is very Paul Freeman-like while Frank is more of the obsessive Rene Dahinden type. The college professor/author is even a knock on the late Grover Krantz. I agonized over how bad the beginning of this was (thinking it was some guys personal documentary) but when I just sat back and watched it, my view turned and the ending was so great that I ended up loving this film.

Overall, its a fantastic Blair Witch-esque parody on sasquatch research and the investigators. The best part is when you totally realize that it isnt really a documentary (took me about 15-20 minutes cuz I ordered it thinking it was one). Im so glad I watched the whole thing because the acting is so bad that it helps the cohesion of the film and makes it work. Scream of the Sasquatch is perfect for "believers" and "skeptics" because it is so funny in that way. Believers will laugh at the parody, skeptics will say thats exactly how believers are. Certainly worth the money I paid for it and Ill watch it many times. Great job Guy Gilray

    Rocky Mountain Bigfoot

    Description

Shot by a 5-time Emmy-winner and his intrepid crew, this new 1-hour documentary is a thinking-persons look at one of the most fascinating animals of the American West: bigfoot. This fresh look at the species includes unprecedented access to the nations top bigfoot researcher (a respected university biologist) detailed examinations of key sightings and a unique expedition deep into the Rocky Mountain wilderness--to the exact location of a famed encounter.

This new production reveals compelling evidence from the labs of Prof. Jeff Meldrum of Idaho State University. Meldrum documents hair samples, fingerprint evidence, behavior studies, and even historical data supporting the creatures existence. Plus, Meldrum explains why many parts of the interior Rockies are possible bigfoot habitat.

The film also includes surprising comments from nationally-recognized author and skeptic Michael Shermer. Even though Shermer makes a living discounting myths, he tells the filmmakers that bigfoots existence is actually a possibility.

The filmmakers travelled to the exact locations of several key sightings--with the actual eyewitnesses--to recount their stories. In addition to chronicling the accounts, the documentary team systematically evaluated and deconstructed the sightings. The team also mounted a major scientific expedition deep into the Idaho wilderness--to purported bigfoot hotspot--gaining surprising new insights into the bigfoot phenomenon.

I looked the eyewitness accounts in this DVD. The interviews with researchers were also well-done.

I would give this one 2 1/2 stars.
Rating Point :3 Helpful Point :6
This DVD was produced in 2004 in the state of Idaho by a 5-time Emmy winner and his intrepid crew, and I recommend it if you want to hear some good eyewitness accounts from the state of Idaho, and also hear from Dr. Jeff Meldrum. One of the more interesting parts of this documentary is when a group of students decides to try to fool Dr. Meldrum with a fake track made out of all things, a piece of a pumpkin shaped like a foot with dermal ridges painted on. Its a neat trick, since a pumpkin does resemble a human foot in texture, but Dr. Meldrum isnt so easily fooled. Two compelling eyewitness accounts round up the first half-hour, with both interviewees believing that they had sightings because they were engaged in activity that attracted the attention of the Sasquatch. Dr. Meldrum is also seen in the field investigating with a group of researchers. The first half-hour I have no problem with the second half-hour leaves a bit to be desired. A crew of young students goes out in the woods in what can only be described as a cross between The Blair Witch Project and The Real World. The five students dont seem to have the most basic clue about how to react when a Bigfoot is nearby (they freak out when they hear a pack of geese fly over, for cripes sake!). They mistake the geese for a bunch of monkeys chattering, which indicates they are true greenhorns who dont know the most basic things about the forest sounds. They do lay out bait consisting of oatmeal, which seems pretty sound strategy to be honest, since Dr. Meldrum did mention that in the course of his field research, he heard backpacks being rifled through by some animal, possibly a Sasquatch, but he did not see it for sure. However, the main things that were taken were oatmeal packets by whatever animal ransacked the backpacks. I wont give away too much more, but this documentary isnt too bad, and I do recommend it, even with a few reservations. It is available through Amazon.com

I thought the book was OK....I was looking for some encounters to read about and possibly some behavioural information. After reading the book it fell short of that...this book is mainly about the hike as opposed to any encounters, although he does have one for sure. Some good info from the local agencies as well....I must say though, the author seems to portray himself as a very conciencious traveller of the woods and I respect him for that.
All in all a good book if you want to go out and see some nice scenery....and maybe a Sasquatch if your lucky......

With pictures and stories the Bords present cases of encounters with Bigfoot. The Bigfoot story has moved from certainty of the creatures existence to claims of hoaxes, trickery, and outright lies and back again. Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin claim to have taken movies of Bigfoot Ray Wallace s family shows wooden feet that they claim were used to start the whole Bigfoot story in 1958. Who do we believe?

The Bords answer is nobody and everybody. The cases are presented without prejudice so you can make up your own mind. Sometimes it s easy, as with the Ray Wallace claims there are plenty of sightings before Ray Wallace was alive to make it clear he didn t start the whole thing. Other cases are a mystery. And that s all part of the fun.

The Bigfoot Casebook (both the original and the updated version)is a great resource for anyone who studies the Bigfoot phenomena. Whether a field researcher, or of the more Fortean variety, the individual interested in Bigfoot needs this book. In fact, anyone who is interested in Bigfoot who is serious about research needs this book.

This book is also fun for the person who is curious about Bigfoot, even if not a researcher.

Where ever you fall on the scale of interest, the book is an excellent resource.

While the book is a useful research tool, it isnt pedantic or difficult to read. The person whos curious about Bigfoot and enjoys reading about Bigfoot or Sasquatch will find this book a nice and easy to read collection of Bigfoot encounters.

Casebook doesnt delve deeply into any one particular Bigfoot case thats not the purpose of the book. Its an excellent guide to specific dates, locations, etc. of Bigfoot activity/sightings.

One thing I personally appreciated was the inclusion of so-called "paranormal Bigfoot" events those encounters involving UFOs, Bigfoot, and other anomalous phenomena.

Bigfoot Casebook gives a history of Bigfoot sightings, and presents a time line and context of sightings that any Bigfoot researcher, as well anyone with a more casual interest, will find usefull and enjoyable.

    Worth the buy

I liked the book. It had quite a few encounters that I had not read about before. In the second part of the book you will find in brief outline the different sightings by date, but you can browse through it very quickly to find the sightings in your state. I recommend adding this to your library. The only thing that I didnt like about it is that it has included stories that link bigfoot to UFOs. I think they could have been left out.

    The most popular events,pictures,investigators
and reports are all jam packed into this great read that you will find to be a must have for the seriouse crypto junkies.
It was interesting to read all of the BIGFOOT REPORTS from the late 1800s all the way to the modern day and realize that what ever people have been seeing, has not changed much at all.

This is a must have for the BIGFOOT fans. The only thing that would have made it better would have been including more pictures.
If you love to read about BIGFOOT, you will have a hard time putting this book down. If you are a BFRO investigator or just thinking of going on
a seriouse investigation, you need to buy this book.
Included is a chronologicle list of strong and credible encounters and sightings. Two thumbs up to both authors- Janet and Colin Bord.

Both have been fascinated at the prospect of an unknown primate, and can now point out so many things that have existed literally right under our noses for so long, but have never been found or documented until recently. Both give this book a hearty 2 thumbs up. They also recomend "Mysterious Monsters" DVD narrated by Peter Graves ( a rarity, but worth it )
